b. The major command and control headquarters of a division are the division
headquarters; the three brigade headquarters; headquarters, division artillery; and
headquarters, DISCOM.
c. The combat element of the division base is an armored cavalry squadron in
the armored and mechanized divisions, and an air cavalry squadron in the infantry,
airborne, and air assault divisions.
d. The CS elements of a division are the division artillery; an air defense artillery
battalion; an engineer battalion; a signal battalion; a combat aviation battalion; a combat
and chemical (NBC) defense company. The air assault division has an aviation group
instead of an aviation battalion.
