(2) Avoid reflective surfaces.
(3) Control access.
(4) Wear eye protection.
(5) Never look into the beam.
(6) Conduct periodic examinations.
(7) Maintain a safe distance.
If operated within these guidelines, the laser can be used safely.
c. Lasers are rapidly coming into the Army inventory and it is necessary for
preventive medicine personnel to have a thorough knowledge of the hazards involved
and the means of protection against these hazards.
