3-21. SPONGE FORCEPS (FORCEPS, GAUZE PAD HOLDING)
Sponge forceps (figure 3-28) are large and doughnut-shaped nibs. They are used
to handle sterile dressings or linen outside the mouth.

3-22. INSTRUMENT FORCEPS (HOLDER, FORCEPS)
Instrument forceps (figure 3-29) have prong-like nibs resembling a knife and fork.
They are used to handle sterile instruments.
