(2) Copperheads. Copperheads (figure 1-2) are generally found in the
eastern half of the US. The head is usually a reddish-brown (like copper) and
the body is usually brownish with dark bands. Copperheads usually prefer dry, stony
terrain. Mature copperheads range from two to four feet in length.
