c. Defibrillate If Ventricular Fibrillation Persists. Use an electrical charge of
200 joules. Give a nonsynchronized DC countershock. If 200 joules is unsuccessful,
try 200 to 300 joules, then 360 joules, then CPR.
d. Initiate Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation And Drug Therapy. See Section
IV and Section V of Lesson 1, Basic Cardiac Life Support.
e. Procedure. Proceed as you would for an unmonitored cardiac arrest. Refer
to paragraph 3-12, UNMONITORED CARDIAC ARREST.
