articular pain.
HABITAT: Mesenteries and fatty tissue of the body cavities.
VECTOR: Culicoides species.
RESERVOIR HOST: None.
INFECTIVE FORM: Filariform larva.
MODE OF INFECTION: Inoculation.
PERIODICITY: None.
SPECIMEN OF CHOICE: Blood.
SPECIMEN PROCESSING: Giemsa's or Hematoxylin/Eosin stains.
MICROFILARIA
SIZE: 173 to 240 mcm.
SHEATH: Absent.
TAIL: Blunt.
TERMINAL NUCLEI: Do not extend to the tip of the tail.
