4-13. RULES FOR DETERMINING THE PROPER LETTER MARKER
a. The Extremities. Without an L or an R marker the radiologist would not
know which foot he or she was looking at. Therefore, the appropriate marker must be
placed on the film before you take the exposure. Figure 4-28 shows a letter marker (R).
