ANTERIOR POSTERIOR COCCYX
2-8.
A coccyx routine consists of an AP and a lateral coccyx. The coccyx is the only
portion of the vertebral column that has no function. It represents the last vestige of a
tail, which is why the coccyx is commonly referred to as the tailbone. Injuries to the
coccyx usually result from a fall and cause extreme discomfort for the patient.
