recumbent
Lying down in any position. For a lateral foot, the patient
is laterally recumbent.
right anterior oblique
That position in which the right anterior (front) aspect of
(RAO)
the body is closest to the film. This may be either in the
erect or recumbent position.
right lateral decubitus
The patient is lying on their right side and the CR is
directed horizontally. As an example, the right lateral
decubitus is utilized in place of an upright abdomen and
an upright chest, if the patient cannot stand.
right posterior oblique
That position in which the right posterior (back) aspect of
(RPO)
the body is closest to the film. This may be either in the
erect or recumbent position.
