b. COMMZ. In the COMMZ, CSS is provided by units assigned to theater army.
CSS functions performed include personnel, administrative, and morale services, CA,
labor, materiel maintenance, supply, transportation, hospitalization and evacuation, and
other logistical services. The ENOM functions include construction, topographic
support, and real property maintenance activities. The medical, personnel,
transportation, engineer, and CA commands provide general service (GS) to the combat
zone and the COMMZ. The MEDCOM also furnishes DS medical services in the
COMMZ. The TAACOM provides DS (less medical, cryptologistic, map supply, and
ammunition), area emergency warning, and RAP in the COMMZ, as well as backup
logistical support to the COSCOMs.
