(c) Rear-loading compactor trucks (see figure 1-3) can collect from bulk
containers but are used primarily for manual loading. The solid waste is loaded into the
rear hopper and compacted by pushing the solid waste toward the front of the body.

(2) Two common types of container-haul vehicles are the hoist-and haul-
vehicles (see figure 1-4) used with lugger boxes, and the tilt-frame truck (see figure 1-5)
used with roll-off containers and/or large, enclosed compaction containers.
