Uniformity of Procedure. For the sake of uniformity, it is most convenient
to use one formula for all calculations -- weight/weight, volume/volume, and
weight/volume. The formula is:

If Q and A are expressed in the same units (either pounds or gallons),
D = 1. If Q is expressed in pounds and A in gallons, D = the density of
the diluent (8.34 lb/gal if the diluent is water).
