i. This unit is the sole manager for aircraft maintenance within the division. This
function will be accomplished utilizing the TACCS or like follow-on systems by the
production control section. Production control officer will be the aircraft maintenance
officer for the division.

This unit is dependent upon--
(1) Appropriate elements of the unit to which assigned for medical, financial,
personnel, administrate, religious, and legal services.
(2) Appropriate teams from aviation operating teams, TOE 1-500, and other
air traffic control (ATC) units for fire/crash rescue, ATC, airfield operation, and other
terminal facilities.
(3) Area transportation support for movement of Class IX aircraft supplies
from re-supply points; Helicopter airlift of downed, recoverable aircraft, movement of
repairable items to evacuation points, and movement of about one-half of the
organization during a unit relocation.
(4)
Division support command for messing.
(5) Division support command for organizational wheel vehicle
maintenance. Mechanic positions are included only to supplement the motor pool on
which this unit is dependent.
k. Basis of allocation--One per armored or mechanized division, TOE-87J.
3-10. FORWARD SUPPORT BATTALION
The FSBs provide divisions-level logistic support for a heavy division brigade,
and other divisional units located in a brigade support area. They contain a
headquarters and headquarters detachment, a supply company, maintenance company
(supported by a tank system support team) and an infantry (mechanized) system
support team) and a MEDCOM. See Figure 3-4.
