Figure 2-6 Typical organization chart of a MEDDAC without a hospital.
2-14. COMPARISON OF A MEDDAC (WITH USACH) ORGANIZATION TO A
MEDCEN ORGANIZATION
a. Office of the Commander and the Special Staff. The Office of the
Commander and the Special Staff is responsible for the duties of the members of the
Office of the Commander and the MEDDAC special staff. The Equal Employment
Opportunity Representative, IMO, PAO, Safety Officer, and Security Officer are
assigned to members of the command on an additional duty basis. The MEDDAC
special staff does not have an IG, JA, or Chaplain.
b. United States Army Community Hospital. The MEDDAC hospital is
usually smaller than the MEDCEN hospital and does not usually offer as full a range of
services. Some differences in the organization of a MEDDAC and a MEDCEN hospital
are given below:
(1) The Department of Pediatrics may be reduced to a section and placed in
the Department of Medicine.
(2) The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology may be reduced to a
section and placed in the Department of Medicine.
