a. The Medical Service Corps consists of a chief in the grade of brigadier
general, four assistant chiefs, and other commissioned officers representing more than
20 different career fields. The Corps is divided, by law, into the following four sections:
(1) Pharmacy, Supply, and Administration.
(2) Medical Allied Sciences.
(3) Sanitary Engineering.
(4) Optometry.
b. The Medical Service Corps provides technical and professional support in a
wide range of allied sciences. The Medical Service Corps includes officers who
specialize in environmental science, sanitary engineering, entomology, and radiation
protection.
