separately from the holding platoon, the wardmaster/section sergeant plans and
executes the disestablishment, movement, establishment, and operations of the holding
facility. Instructs in first aid procedures.
(2) Practical nurse. The practical nurse performs preventative, therapeutic
and emergency nursing care procedures. Provides technical guidance to assigned
personnel in lower grades. Instructs in first aid procedures.
(3) Medical specialist. The medical specialist performs emergency medical
treatment procedures. Performs routine nursing care procedures for patients with
common diseases and minor injuries. Serves as aidman and ambulance driver.
Performs field sanitation procedures.
4-46. DIVISION MEDICAL SUPPLY SECTION
This section (Figure 4-17) maintains a 5-day stockage level of division level
medical supplies. Request for medical supplies from the FSB medical companies and
battalion aid stations are filled or forwarded to supporting corps MEDSOM. Provides
maintenance on biomedical equipment in the DSA. It is typically staffed with the DMSO,
a health service materiel officer, a medical supply sergeant, an advanced biomedical
equipment specialist, a pharmacy NCO, and medical supply specialist.

a. Division Medical Supply Officer. This officer supervises and controls
medical supplies and equipment maintenance support to units in the division.
