b. Organization. The AHS consists of the Office of the Commandant and his
special staff, the Resource Management Division, the Directorate of Force Integration
and Proponency Coordination, the Directorate of Training and Doctrine, the Medical
Field Service School, the Directorate of Combat Developments, the Directorate of
Evaluation and Standardization, the School Secretary, the US Army School of Aviation
Medicine, the USAMEOS, the US AMEDD Board, the Academy Brigade, and the NCO
Academy.
2-17. UNITED STATES ARMY ENVIRONMENTAL HYGIENE AGENCY
a. Location. The US Army Environmental Hygiene Agency (USAEHA) is
located at Edgewood Area, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. It has three
regional divisions located at Fitzsimons Army MEDCEN, Colorado; Fort Meade,
Maryland; and Fort McPherson, Georgia.
b. Mission and Functions. The USAEHA supports the worldwide PVNTMED
programs of the Army and other Federal agencies as directed. The USAEHA provides
consultative services in PVNTMED, occupational health, and environmental hygiene;
provides surveys, investigations, and specialized scientific and professional guidance to
MEDCEN's and MEDDAC's; conducts residency training in occupational health and
PVNTMED; accumulates and evaluates air, water, and noise pollution data; studies and
laser, and so forth); and provides guidance on the disposal of hazardous and toxic
materials and sol id wastes.
c. Organization. The USAEHA consists of the Commander and his
Administrative Services Division, the Directorate of Occupational and Environmental
Health, the Directorate of Environmental Quality, the Directorate of Radiation and
Environmental Sciences, the Directorate of Laboratory Sciences, and the Directorate of
Regional Activities.
2-18. UNITED STATES ARMY HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS SUPPORT ACTIVITY
a. Location, Mission, and Functions. The US Army Health Care Systems
Support Activity (HCSSA) is located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The HCSSA has the
overall mission of planning, designing, coding, testing, documenting, implementing,
maintaining, acquiring and operating management information systems (MIS) and
automated data systems (ADS) within the AMEDD worldwide. It is the Army component
of the Tri-Service Medical Information Systems (TRIMIS). The HCSSA is responsible
for disseminating standard computer system software worldwide and for providing
technical assistance on computer system trouble calls.
b. Organization. The HCSSA consists of the Office of the Commander and his
Policy Management Office, the Technical Support Division, the Production Division, and
the Systems Division.
