e. Gonorrhea (VGTA). Report the total infectious cases in which the diagnosis
was based on supporting laboratory findings, such as a positive gram stain and/or culture
for the causative agent Neisseria gonorrhea.
f. HIV Positive (VHTA). Report the number of HIV antibody infections confirmed
by a repeat Western Blot Test.
g. LGV GI Chancroid (VLGA). Report only new cases of lmyphogranuloma
venereum (LGV), granuloma inguinale (GI), and chancroid. Do not report other cases
of sexually transmitted disease, such as trichomoniasis, scabies, pediculosis, etc.
h. Nonspecific and Nongonococcal Urethritis (NSU) (VNSA). Report the
number of NSU with signs and symptoms similar to gonorrhea but in which the gonorrhea
organism was not recovered. New cases of sexually transmitted chlamydia trachomatis
will be reported as nonspecific urethritis.
i. Primary/Secondary (P/S) Syphilis (VPSA). Report only infectious cases
(primary and secondary syphilis). Do not report cases involving asymptomatic individuals
whose only finding was a positive serology.
1-18. WWR SECTION V, DISPOSITIONS AND CUMULATIVE DAYS
a. Dispositions & Cumulative Days. All data in this section is CHCS system
calculated and cannot be edited. Any corrections must be made through Corrections
Management. The WWR must then be recalculated.
b. Dispositions, Inpatient. The removal of a patient (including live births) from the
census of a hospital by reason of discharge to duty, to home, transfer to another medical
facility, death, or other termination of inpatient care during the reporting period. The day of
discharge is the day on which the medical center or hospital formally terminates the period
of inpatient hospitalization. Report all dispositions in columns 01-04 with an item code of
12.
c. Disposition Inpatient Bed Days (Length of Stay). The number of occupied
bed days spent in a medical treatment facility by an inpatient, including live births, from the
date of admission to the date of disposition. These days exclude any patient still
occupying beds or bassinets. Count all inpatient bed days and bassinet days that are
associated with the disposition even if the admission occurred in earlier reporting periods.
Do not include bed days occupied by boarders, transient patients or bed days assigned to
patients who are on convalescent leave, subsisting out, AWOL, patients out to medical
holding unit, or out on ward absences past 2400 hours.
