This product may cause staining of the skin, hair, and clothing.
e. Supply.
(1) Cream: Three percent iodochlorhydroxyquin with 0.5 percent or 1
percent hydrocortisone, 28.35 grams (1 oz).
(2) Ointment: Three percent iodochlorhydroxyquin with 1 percent
hydrocortisone, 5 grams.
NOTE:
The cream has a slightly drying effect, which is useful for moist, weeping
lesions. The ointment is especially indicated for dry lesions accompanied by
thickening and scaling of the skin.
6-15. SELENIUM SULFIDE LOTION
a. Indications. Selenium sulfide lotion (Selsun) is indicated for the treatment of:
(1)
Common dandruff.
(2)
Mild to moderately severe seborrheic dermatitis.
(3)
Tinea versicolor.
b. Usual Dosage.
(1)
Dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis:
(a) Lather 1 to 2 teaspoonfuls into wet scalp.
(b) Allow to remain 2 to 5 minutes.
(c)
Rinse thoroughly.
(d) Repeat procedure.
(e) After treatment, wash hands.
(f) Make two applications each week for 2 weeks, then decrease

Tinea versicolor:
(a) Apply sufficient amounts to cover affected areas of body (except
face). Allow to remain 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
