(1) Company commander. The company commander plans, directs, and
supervises the operations and employment of the company. The commander is also
responsible for training, disciplining, and billeting personnel in the company. The
company commander is responsible for the security of the medical company. This
officer also performs the duties of general surgeon.
(2) Field medical assistant. The field medical assistant assists the
commander in the areas of organizational administration, supply, and training. This
(3) First sergeant. The first sergeant is the principal enlisted assistant to the
company commander. The first sergeant is also a reenlistment NCO.

Unit clerk. The unit clerk performs unit personnel and administrative.
b. Supply Section. The supply section is typically staffed as shown in
Figure 4-11. It provides the general and medical supply support for the medical
company.
(1) Medical supply sergeant. This sergeant manages medical supplies and
equipment. This includes requesting, receiving, storing, issuing, preserving, and
accounting for medical supplies and equipment. It also includes inventory
management, salvage, and stock control functions.
