Psychiatry Clinic
Table 1-5: Clinic service subaccount MEPRS codes.
(5) Ward Changes Affecting MEPRS Codes. Local procedures must be
established to account for patients transferred from one clinic service to another so that
bed days are credited to the appropriate clinic service. For example, a patient is admitted
to internal medicine on April 5, is transferred to psychiatry on April 9, and is discharged on
April 15. Internal medicine should get credit for four bed days, psychiatry should get credit
for six bed days, and only one admission will be reported for the clinic that initially admitted
the patient, in this example, internal medicine.
c. Patient Category Codes. Patient category codes represent the patient'sTri-
Service beneficiary category of eligibility for care in the MHS. Standard patient category
d. Workload Codes. Unique V, X, Y, and Z Workload Codes have been assigned
to various workloads and counts for upward reporting.
