a. Class I--Subsistence: Subsistence includes gratuitous health and welfare
items.
b. Class lI--Clothing. Clothing, individual equipment, tentage, tool sets and tool
kits, handtools, administrative and housekeeping supplies and equipment. Includes
items of equipment, other than principal items prescribed in authorization/allowance
tables and items of supply (not including repair parts).
c. Class III--Petroleum Oils and Lubricants: Petroleum fuels: lubricants,
hydraulic and insulating oils, preservatives, liquid and compressed gases, chemical
products, coolants, deicing and antifreeze compounds, together with components and
additives of such products, and coal.
d. Class IV--Construction: Construction materials, to include installed
equipment and all fortification/barrier materials.
e. Class V--Ammunition: Ammunition of all types (including special ammunition,
missiles, rockets, propellants and other associated items.
f. Class VI--Personal Demand Items. These are nonmilitary sales items.
g. Class VII--Major End Items: A final combination of end products that is ready
for its intended use is ready for its intended use (principal item); that is, launchers,
tanks, mobile machine shops, vehicles.
h. Class VIII--Medical Material. Medical material includes medical peculiar
repair parts.
i. Class IXRepair . Repair parts and components, to include kits, assemblies
and subassemblies--reparable and non-reparable required for maintenance support of
all equipment.
j. Class XMateriel . Materials to support nonmilitary programs; that is,
agricultural and economic development items not included in Classes I through IX.

COMBAT SERVICE SUPPORT CAPABITILIES
a. At Echelon (Level) 1, this unit provides the following CSS to a type armored
division (consisting of the division base, four mechanized battalions and six tank battalions)
and to a type mechanized vision {consisting of the division base, five mechanized battalions,
and five tank battalions. A significant change in the composition of the type armored or
mechanized division will require modification table of organization and equipment
(MTOE} action to adjust the CSS capabilities appropriately.
