(2) Ambulatory Care Support Branch. The Ambulatory Care Support
Branch provides administrative support activities for all clinics that operate under the
Department of Primary Care and Community Medicine and provides support to clinics
operated by other departments as directed. The branch can organize a Central
Appointments Section (when a centralized system is used), a Clinic Support Section
(receptionists), and a Patient Transportation Section (if not organized under the
Department of Primary Care and Community Medicine).
bb. Force Development Division. The Force Development Division maintains
the command table of distribution and allowances (TDA). Functions of the division
include manpower management procedures and providing consultation services to all
elements of the MEDCEN on matters pertaining to organization. The division has no
subordinate branches.
cc. Data Processing Center. The Data Processing Center provides centralized
automatic data processing support to all administrative and professional elements of the
MEDCEN and DENTAC. It operates the central computer facility, trains automatic data
processing (ADP) personnel, and maintains ADP systems.

VETERINARY SERVICE
The mission of the Veterinary Service is to provide comprehensive veterinary
services within assigned geographic areas of responsibility. The Veterinary Service is a
separate organization within the MEDCEN. It is commanded by the Deputy
Commander for Veterinary Service (see paragraph 2-5c).
a. Organization. The Veterinary Service is divided into the Office of the Deputy
for Veterinary Activities and installation and off-post branches. Subordinate branches
and sections may be established as appropriate to effectively accomplish mission
functions.
b. Veterinary Programs. The MEDCEN Veterinary Service is responsible for
the following programs:
(1) Food Hygiene Public Health Program. This program includes quality
assurance portion of pre-award surveys in commercial food establishments; inspections
of Government-owned subsistence items at Defense Logistics Agency Depots, Defense
Personnel Support Center Supply Points, and Navy Supply Centers; sanitary
inspections of commercial food establishments; installation food inspection; sanitary
inspections of military food handling, processing, and food storage facilities
(commissaries, troop issue storage, and so forth); management of the DoD All Food
Activities (ALFOODACT) Program; and inspection of foods which have been
contaminated by radioactive material.
(2) Animal Medicine Program. This program includes operation of the
animal disease prevention and control (ADAPCP) facility; complete health care of
